GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) has been awarded the first position in Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passengers survey in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category for the year 2016. The Airports Council International (ACI), located in Montreal, Canada, has communicated this to GHIAL officials.
According to the survey, GHIAL got 4.9 in 2016 (measured on the scale of 1 to 5), while it scored 4.4 in 2009. Airport officials credited this consistent improvement to the passengers and its stakeholders including Ministry of Civil Aviation, CISF, airlines, immigration, and customs. Though Hyderabad Airport was designed to cater to 12 MPPA, it has shown a growth of more than 20 percent in the last year. There is an expansion plan to meet 20 MPPA in the near future.
The ASQ award ceremony will be held in Port Louis, Mauritius from 16-18th October 2017.
